The Office Administration Certification Course at Ruhani College is a focused 14-day program designed to equip students with essential administrative skills, with a strong emphasis on office procedures. This course blends core office administration training—such as scheduling, document handling, and communication—with specialized knowledge in medical billing (WSIB), health records management, insurance processing, car accidents, and the use of medical office software in real teaching environment.
Graduates will be prepared to take on roles in a variety of healthcare-related settings such as clinics, hospitals, dental offices, and long-term care facilities.

Admission Requirements
Students must meet one of the following:
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent.
- Be 18 years of age or older (Mature Student Status).

Course Objective
This program is designed to prepare students for front-line administrative roles in medical and healthcare settings by developing core office skills along with specialized training in insurance billing, insurance claims processing, and electronic health record management
Students will gain hands-on experience and practical understanding in the following areas:
- Insurance Billing (EHC, MVA, WSIB & OHIP):
- Learn the complete cycle of billing for Extended Health Care (EHC), Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA), Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB), and Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) including documentation, submissions, and reconciliation.
- Office Financials:
- Get introduced to petty cash management, invoicing, payment processing, and reconciliation of basic accounts within a healthcare setting.
- Medical Office Operations:
- Learn best practices in appointment scheduling, patient intake, phone etiquette, and front desk coordination
- Insurance Claims (Braces, Orthotics & Compression Stockings):
- Understand the process of preparing and submitting claims for medical equipment and devices, including required documentation, pre-authorization, and benefit verification.
- Healthcare Communication & Documentation:
- Strengthen verbal and written communication skills tailored to healthcare environments, including record keeping, referral handling, and inter-office correspondence.
- Electronic Medical Records (EMR) & Universal Medical Office Software:
- Develop practical skills using standard medical office software including for patient scheduling, billing, and digital documentation.
- Charting & SOAP Notes:
- Gain skills in documenting patient encounters professionally and in compliance with healthcare standards using SOAP (Subjective, Objective, Assessment, Plan) format.
- Practical Training & Job-Ready Skills
- This course ensures graduates are job-ready and confident to contribute efficiently in various healthcare administrative roles.
